Pelican State Tech (“Pelican State Tech,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) designs and builds custom software, cloud infrastructure, and AI systems for clients from Columbia, Louisiana. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through pelicanstatetech.com (the “Site”), why we collect it, how we use and safeguard it, and the choices and rights available to you.
This policy applies to the Site only. It does not cover: (a) our separately published software products, each of which is governed by its own privacy policy presented within that product; or (b) information we process on behalf of a client under a services agreement, where the client is the data controller and we act solely as a processor under that agreement.
The Site offers a contact form. When you submit it, we collect the information you enter: your full name, your email address, and the contents of your message. If you email or call us directly, we receive whatever information you choose to include, which may include your phone number, your company, and details about your project.
Please do not send confidential, proprietary, or sensitive personal information through the contact form. Use it to start a conversation, and we will agree on a secure channel before you share anything sensitive.
When you visit the Site, our hosting provider automatically records standard server log information. This typically includes your IP address, browser type and version, operating system and device type, the referring page or source, the pages you view, and the date and time of each request. This information is generated by the act of loading a web page and is used for security, troubleshooting, and understanding aggregate traffic patterns.
The Site uses only the strictly necessary cookies set by our hosting platform to deliver pages reliably and to protect against abuse and spam form submissions. We do not currently operate analytics, advertising, retargeting, or social media tracking technologies on the Site. If we add any such technology in the future, we will update this policy and, where required by law, request your consent before it is activated.
We do not process payments through the Site and therefore never collect payment card numbers or bank account details here. We do not intentionally collect special categories of personal data such as health information, biometric data, precise geolocation, or government identifiers. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
We use the information described above for the following purposes:
We do not sell or rent personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use your information for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects about you.
If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your personal data on the following legal bases: your consent, where you have voluntarily submitted an inquiry; our legitimate interests in responding to business inquiries, securing our Site, and operating our business, balanced against your rights; the performance of a contract, where we are delivering services to you; and compliance with a legal obligation, where retention or disclosure is required by law.
We share personal information only in the circumstances below, and only to the extent necessary:
We keep contact form submissions and related correspondence for as long as needed to address your inquiry and to maintain a record of our business communications. Where an inquiry does not lead to an engagement, we typically delete or anonymize it no later than twenty-four months after our last substantive contact with you. Where an inquiry does lead to an engagement, we retain project records for the duration of the engagement and afterward for the period required by our legal, tax, and insurance obligations. Server logs are retained for a short period consistent with our hosting provider’s standard practice.
The Site is served exclusively over encrypted HTTPS connections, so information you submit is encrypted in transit. We restrict access to inquiry data to the personnel who need it, use multi-factor authentication on the accounts that hold it, and apply the principle of least privilege across our systems. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your information using measures appropriate to its sensitivity.
Regardless of where you live, you may ask us to provide a copy of the personal information we hold about you, correct information that is inaccurate, or delete information we no longer need. You may also ask us to stop contacting you at any time.
Residents of California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws may have the right to confirm whether we process their personal information and to access it; to correct inaccuracies; to request deletion; to obtain a portable copy; to opt out of the sale of personal information, sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising, targeted advertising, and certain profiling; and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. As stated above, we do not sell or share personal information and do not conduct targeted advertising. Where required, you may appeal a decision we make about your request by replying to our response.
If you are in the EEA or the UK, you have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection to processing based on legitimate interests. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
Email us at info@pelicanstatetech.com with the subject line “Privacy Request,” or write to the postal address in Section 14. To protect your information, we will take reasonable steps to verify your identity before acting, which usually means confirming that you control the email address associated with the information. We will respond within forty-five days where California law applies, or within one month where the GDPR applies, and will tell you if we need a permitted extension. An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf with proof of authorization.
Because we do not track visitors across third-party websites, we do not respond to browser Do Not Track signals. Where the Global Privacy Control signal applies to opt-out rights under state law, we honor it. As noted, we do not sell or share personal information in any event.
The Site is intended for businesses and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under sixteen. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Our Site links to client websites and applications we have built, and may link to other third-party resources. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. Review the privacy policy of any site you visit.
Pelican State Tech operates in the United States, and the information described in this policy is stored and processed in the United States. If you access the Site from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection law may differ from that of your country. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses for such transfers.
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. If the changes are material, we will provide a more prominent notice on the Site. Please review this page periodically.
